Design does not reveal itself only in form, but in the attitude behind it. During the Design Weekend Craft and Conviction, special spaces for encounter, exchange and genuine experience open up at the Refugium Lunz. Heinz and Joachim, the developers and builders of this place and founders of Mayr & Glatzl, have shaped the Refugium with a clear design vision and a high level of craftsmanship. Even if they are not present on a daily basis, their idea remains tangible – in the quality of the spaces, the materials, and the attention to detail.

This weekend invites participants to experience design with all their senses. Selecting materials, conversations unfolding while walking, ideas developing through shared action. Design is not explained – it is experienced.

Friday evening
The weekend begins with a shared dinner at the Design Table. A calm arrival at the Refugium, first conversations, first encounters. The evening creates space for exchange, closeness, and a conscious immersion in the atmosphere of this place.

Saturday
At 11 a.m., the journey leads to the carpentry workshop, which has stood for craftsmanship, precision and durability for more than 50 years. It forms the artisanal foundation of M&G as well as the Formdepot. Here it becomes visible how genuine quality emerges from experience, material and conviction.

Afterwards, coffee and cake at the Refugium invite guests to linger. Conversations may resonate, thoughts settle, impressions deepen.

At 3 p.m., the Stube opens its doors for the mood board and material workshop. Materials, colours and moods are set in motion. It is about inspiration, intuition and the shared development of ideas.

Im Anschluss laden Kaffee und Kuchen im Refugium zum Verweilen ein. Gespräche dürfen nachklingen, Gedanken sich setzen, Eindrücke sich vertiefen.

Sunday
At 11 a.m., the group sets off on a shared walk around the lake. Movement opens new perspectives. Conversations arise while walking, nature accompanies, thoughts are allowed to expand.

This weekend connects design with origin, creation with conviction, and people with materials. It is an invitation to look more closely, to feel more deeply, and to experience genuine quality.
