The history
Once constructed of stones and dreams.
Experienced a lot, survived even more.
Space for those on the move.
Food and drink when resting.
You don't have to learn anything, but you can experience many things.
Lunz am See hasn’t been around as long as Rome has.
And not as many roads lead here. But the iron road did. And brought with it prosperity and people from all over the world. With hope in their luggage and hungry stomachs. People have been meeting and coming together at the Grienanger house for years. Starting in the 17th century, they would stop here for a bite to eat or a drink and to be social. The historic house, located at the church square, served as a restaurant during different periods. But as time passed, the house lost, first, its original meaning and then almost its visage. Vacancy was deemed its final fate, up until that completely uneventful winter night in 2019. Late in the night, in the cold snow flurry, the history of the house seemed to be a worthwhile cause to two walkers accidentally passing by. And, ever since that night, its history continues to be (re)written day by day.
