The Refugium Lunz is the idea of a place where the desire for new things and the appreciation of the past finds common ground: a house where you can feel good and immerse yourself in. A place that gives you space and invites you to stay a while.
When you step through the gates of the Refugium Lunz, you can leave your everyday life behind at reception. The centuries-old, vaulted arches above you give you enough space to let your thoughts wander.
Our Salonküche.
THE HEART OF OUR HOUSE AND THE PLACE WHERE WE MEET TO CHAT.
You can always expect small delicacies to be waiting for you here and you can also prepare something yourself. The Salonküche is open to you around the clock. If you like to start the day before sunrise, this is the place to go and get fresh coffee. If you come home late, a small snack and good wine will be waiting for you. And on select days, based on seasonal themes, we also cook here together. Not to mention, there’s a small garden lounge to sit outside during warmer weather as well.

WITH ENOUGH SPACE FOR YOU, A CONVERSATION, A GAME OF CHESS, A BOOK, AND COZINESS.
This place is very special. The old walls were left as they were originally constructed and the ceiling exposed to reveal its old craftsmanship. And on colder nights, you’ll find a fire going here — you can watch it dancing and crackling. Or you can simply warm your hands and feet, enjoy the atmosphere, and allow yourself to daydream.

You’ll also find adequate room in our spacious restaurant facing the outdoor scenery. Handmade wooden panels elicit warm coziness, large glass windows freedom. Here you’ll find authentic, good food, long conversations, and a sympathetic ear, open to any needs or wishes. You can really eat your fill here and look up at the starry sky on the large terrace after.

THE PLACE FOR YOUR WELL-BEING.
Past our house bench, which invites you to rest and soak up the sun for a moment, and via only a few stairs, you’ll reach our garden house. From the sauna, you look out into the open. Find space, peace, a retreat… The leaves on the old tree sway in time. If you wish, you can find your own rhythm in the yoga room. Or recharge your batteries in the relaxation room or under the pergola.
Our pool

The pool is only a few steps away from the garden house. A dip in the year-round heated water, a few strokes against the counter-current system to get your circulation going. Or just fixing your gaze on the water. Observing how the clouds reflect and pass you by. All these things and so many more that we couldn’t mention here — but you can discover with us — providing space just for you. They are your place of retreat. Your Refugium Lunz.
Our rooms
ON THE FIRST AND SECOND FLOOR OF THE OLD HOUSE
On the two upper floors, always carefully embedded given the conditions of the old house, you’ll find our church rooms — small but sweet. The sun salutation room with its own yoga mat. The balcony room with its own private open space. Our sauna rooms, which ensure undisturbed moments, with a private sauna on your own terrace — and a view of the Ybbs. The junior suite and the grand suite, with their own sauna in the room, are our most spacious rooms in the old part of the house.

IN THE NEWLY BUILT BASEMENT
For those who prefer something more modern, but still very cozy, opt for one of our garden rooms in the new part of the house. They were mapped out and incorporated into the building in such a way that they not only have a private garden and maximum privacy (even with their own entrance), but they also blend into the house so naturally — as if it had always been intended that way.
Oh, there is so much more to describe. We could certainly tell you a whole lot more. But you’ll just have to come and convince yourself.
